Wireless Communication Technology (WiCoT) is one of the research interest group (RIG) in UiTM founded in July 2014 and has just been upgraded to a research group (RG) on 16th February 2021. The group is engaged primarily in wireless and satellite communications. The research on wireless and satellite communications focuses on the formulation, modelling, design, and analysis of future networks. Projects underway include Advanced Coding and Modulation, Space-Time-Block Code, Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA), Long Term Evolution Advanced (LTE- Advanced), Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRAWAN), 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), Remote Sensing, Space Weather and Mutiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO). WiCOT currently has 8 members, more than 20 graduate students and over 1 million ringgit in research funding. The group has collaborated with TM R&D, a research industry in telecommunications and MYSA, a government research agency in space on a number of projects.
